Leading through a crisis

If you’re communicating a difficult message, straight talk can often be the
best way to help that message land well. For many business leaders, COVID-19
has been a trial by fire. How do we keep our team engaged and on task while
operating conditions are difficult and personal circumstances often
extremely challenging? As we emerge from a pandemic that’s separated the
leaders from the managers, we’re honoured to be joined by Rear Admiral
Brian P Fort, Commander, US Naval Forces Japan/Navy Region Japan. RDML
Fort’s command takes in the US Navy’s largest presence outside of the
United States itself, with responsibility for large base operations in
several key sites across the country and Pacific Ocean, as well as thousands
of personnel. RDML Fort will share leadership lessons from his 30+ year
career in the Navy, and explore how he has applied those lessons leading his
command through COVID-19. RDML’s Fort’s experience includes roles
commanding an Arleigh Burke Guided Missile Destroyer, shore-based Nuclear
Power Training Commands, as Commodore of a seven ship Destroyer squadron,
and Commanding Navy Regions Hawaii and Japan.

This event will be livestreamed.
